MARTOR Safety Knives awarded renowned IGR Seal of Quality.
At MARTOR we have always been known for safe and efficient cutting tools but now MARTOR safety knives can now also officially be described as exceptionally ergonomic.
The renowned Nuremberg Institute for Health and Ergonomics (IGR e.V.) has awarded the "IGR Seal of Quality" to all three MARTOR safety knives submitted to them for testing. MARTOR is therefore the first knife manufacturer to bear the recognised IGR seal of quality.
In 1976, MARTOR launched the PROFI, the world's first GS-tested safety knife. The market leader from Solingen has now been confirmed as an ergonomic pioneer. According to IGR, a product can only be certified as "ergonomic" when it is optimally adapted "to the physical characteristics of the test persons". For safety knives, this means they should fit comfortably in the hand and be pleasant to use, even for long periods of time.
IGR have tested the MARTOR SECUPRO 625, SECUPRO MARTEGO and SECUPRO MERAK squeeze-grip knives and have shown that they fully comply with the required ergonomic characteristics. They are called "squeeze-grip knives" because they have an easy to operate lever on their undersides to release the blade simply and comfortably
All three safety knives are primarily used in logistics and production. They can be used to cut cardboard of different thicknesses, film, and strapping, as well as materials off a roll, floor coverings, etc. Their special feature is instant blade retraction back into the handle as soon as the blade leaves the cutting material, even when the user continues to press the lever. This protects users against cutting injuries.
The IGR testers not only tested usage and hand positioning during cutting, but also evaluated the blade changing process. They concluded that here, too, MARTOR has prioritised user comfort and ergonomic usability.
